Apple silently pulls its latest zero-day update – what now?

We’re not sure what will happen if you don’t do it right away, but we’re pretty sure it’s not good.
Please do it now.
Okay, we’ll stop shouting.
Here’s how to do it.
We’re going to assume you’re using a Mac.
First, you’ll need to create a backup of your device by connecting it to your Mac.
We have to say that this is a backup. We’re not sure if it will work as a restore.
Please don’t try to restore from this backup if you want to restore your device.
Once you’ve created the backup, open iTunes.
You can do this by clicking the iTunes icon on your dock or in the Applications folder.
If you don’t see the iTunes icon on your dock, you can drag the iTunes icon from the Applications folder to the dock.
(If you don’t see the Applications folder on your dock, you can drag it to the dock.)
If you don’t see the iTunes icon in the dock, you can open the dock preferences by clicking the Apple icon () in the upper left of your screen, then click Dock.

Click on the Summary tab.
Then click Restore.
If you want to restore your device to the latest version of iOS, you can click the Restore button.
If you want to restore your device to a previous version of iOS, you can click the Restore and Update button.
If you want to restore your device to a specific version of iOS, you can click the Restore and Update button, then click on the version of iOS you want to restore to, and then click the Restore button.
If you get a message that says “This device isn’t eligible for the requested build,” you can click OK and continue restoring.
If you get a message that says “The restore was not successful,” you can click OK, and then try again.
If you get a message that says “iTunes could not restore the iPad ‘iPad’ because an unknown error occurred,” you can click OK, and then try again.
If you get an error message, you can try again.
